Paul E. Rauch, Ph.D., founded Evan Law Group LLC in 2004. In his practice, Dr. Rauch advises clients on maximizing the value of all aspects of their intellectual property. His expertise includes developing prosecution strategies and patent portfolios, as well as preparing validity and other opinions directed to a variety of technology areas including:

Dr. Rauch has represented cases involving the diagnosis and treatment of various disease states, stem cells and related methods, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and drug delivery systems. He has also developed international patent portfolios in several industries, including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, device manufacturing, medical devices, and food processing. He has notable experience in the prosecution of patents which include reexamination and appeals to the Board of Appeals and Interferences, often personally presenting cases directly to patent examiners. In addition, Dr. Rauch counsels domestic and foreign companies on freedom to manufacture, import, and market their products in the United States.

Dr. Rauch received his J.D., with honors, from George Washington University, where he participated in the Giles S. Rich Moot Court Competition and was awarded the Corpus Juris Secundum Award for Scholastic Excellence in Property. He received his Ph.D., and M.S. in Chemistry, from Cornell University. At Cornell, he was awarded the Wentink Prize for Outstanding Research. Dr. Rauch wrote his doctoral thesis on "Synthesis and Structure of New Ternary Nitrides and Chalcogenides".

Prior to obtaining his advanced degrees, Dr. Rauch received a B.A. in Chemistry, with high honors, from Oberlin College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi.

He served as a postdoctoral research associate at Harvard University, Department of Chemistry (Experimental Physical Chemistry: Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and Pulsed Laser Deposition) and at the Max-Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart, Germany (Experimental Solid-State Chemistry: Synthesis of Novel Metal Cluster Compounds).

Prior to founding Evan Law Group, Dr. Rauch was a Partner at the law firms of Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal and Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione. He was also a partner at Oblon, Spivak, McClelland, Maier and Neustadt in Arlington, Virginia.

As the managing partner of the firm, Dr. Rauch fosters a work environment that enables practitioners to creatively solve legal issues while providing exceptional service to clients.
